Our representative teams offer players the opportunity to not only represent their area but also a chance to showcase their skills at representative level against Academies and other regional teams.

The set-up provides an opportunity for Prep School players to express their talent in an environment where performance is put ahead of results and the coaching staff encourage an exciting and attractive style of play.

The Lions’ programme includes matches against Academies, District teams from other areas, an incredible Training Camp and a chance to represent England in the Gothia World Youth Cup.

The Prep Schools Lions was established by teachers with the aim of benefiting schools and pupils.  We are fortunate to to have experienced teachers, coaches, and volunteers who place safeguarding, pastoral care, and the overall football experience of the pupils at the centre of everything we do. Beyond the playing programme itself, which includes a fantastic opportunity for the players, we remain committed to supporting schools more broadly through our Coaches’ Conferences, free Inset training opportunities, and coaching sessions delivered by our volunteer staff.

Over 100 Schools nominated players for trials last year ensuring The Prep Schools Lions is a good representation of the best players in the region.

All trials for the 2026/27 season will be held at Wellington College, Berkshire.

Boys Trials
Sunday 4th October 2026

10.00am Under 11 Boys (surname A to J)

12 Noon Under 11 Boys (surname K to Z)

2.30pm Under 13 Boys

Sunday 11th October 2026

2.30pm Under 12 Boys

Girls Trials
Sunday 11th October 2026

10.00am Under 11 Girls

12 Noon Under 12 and Under 13 Girls

The set-up has the support of Heads of Football across the District and is a good representation of the best players in the area. Over 100 Schools nominated over 800 players for our trials last season.
