Welfare

We have a dedicated Welfare & Safeguarding Officer both at the Training Camp and also at the Gothia World Youth Cup.  They have been involved in running boarding school houses for over 20 years, are fully qualified with The FA and have taken teams to nearly 50 international tournaments abroad.

Many of our staff have vast experience of supervising children in a boarding environment and taking trips abroad.

All our staff are DBS checked and hold a DBS certificate and have appropriate experience.

The Officer is there for all the children and along with all our experienced staff, ensures every player has someone to turn to if they need support or to discuss concerns or anxieties while away from home.

We know many of our players will be away from home for the first time, and it’s very daunting especially if they do not know anyone else attending. That’s why we ensure to provide a welcoming and safe environment for every player.

When you complete the Registration Form at the start of the season you will be asked for all the details we need, including emergency contact numbers, dietary requirements and medical information.

We also take our responsibilities towards dealing with football injuries very seriously.

We take a number of First Aiders to the Gothia Cup as well as Chartered Physiotherapists and Sports Therapists.

We have an Emergency Action Plan in place for different venues and a system whereby all staff are able to access a qualified Sports Therapist for a second opinion asap.

For concussion we use CRT6, for concussion recognition following the latest advice from The FA. We take all head injuries seriously and ensure that in Sweden we have fully trained staff who are able to ensure your children are kept as safe as possible in the event of a head injury.
